| Do-It-Yourself WMD | ||||||||
![]() Hey, Hazmat al-Halal here, Hamzi's brother. Ahlan wa sahlan. I've got some news about do-it-yourself weapons of mass destruction. You Crusaders were a bit surprised when Saddam Hussein's WMD were nowhere to be found. You had it all wrong; the man wasn't a terrorist. The money that he sent to the families of Palestinian martyrs was just an attempt to buy his way back into the Arab world's good graces after the disastrous invasion of Kuwait. The man just wanted to sell as much oil as possible and continue living like the apostate Muslims ruling in Mecca. That does not mean jihadis are not interested in WMD. Jihadis aren't all raghead camel drivers living in caves. Many are engineers and have advanced degrees in a number of disciplines, including chemistry. You may recall the press reports about al-Qaeda (AQ) testing all sorts of chemicals and nasty bugs on dogs and goats - the plague, ebola, etc.. Be afraid; very afraid. You will know shortly after AQ obtains, or builds, a workable nuke - it will go off. Today, however, I want to concentrate on chemical WMD. It isn't looking good for the Crusaders. Remember chemical warfare in World War I with soldiers on all sides choking to death on the battlefields of Belgium? Well, guess what, The stuff ain't hard to make. You may have heard that Allah's forces in Iraq have begun to use WMD. Since January of 2007, such weapons have been used at least three times when a truck carrying explosives and a chlorine tank blew up in Anbar province. More than a dozen people were reported killed in the Anbar attack. - Allah hu akhbar! Just a few days ago a bomb planted on a chlorine tanker left more than 150 villagers stricken north of Baghdad. in Baghdad the following day, a pickup truck carrying chlorine gas cylinders was blown apart in Baghdad, killing at least five people and sending more than 55 to hospitals gasping for breath and rubbing stinging eyes. Then you Crusaders found a chemical munition plant near Fallujah, with three vehicle bombs being assembled, including a truck bomb, about 65 propane tanks and a large supply of ordinary chemicals. Some experts note that, so far, jihadis do not appear to be experts with chemical warfare, meaning they may be causing widespread fear but not mass casualties. Irrelevant!!! Terrorism is a psychological weapon - its called terrorism fpor a reason. We don't have to be good at it. People are chemo-phobic; It only takes a little to scare the bejeezus out of the public, Arab, European, or American. Psychological impact is more important than lethality. Chlorine Gas in Chemical Warfare Chlorine was first used by the Germans as a weapon against Canadian and other allied troops in Ypres in 1915. It caused panic among soldiers unprepared for gas war. Chemical weapons killed tens of thousands of soldiers in World War I, but clouds often drifted back toward the attackers. And, because it is easily detectable and because potential victims can protect themselves by breathing through a damp rag, it is of only limited effectiveness. Their use caused so much international revulsion, however, that the issue sparked the Geneva Protocol of 1925, which banned the use of chemical weapons. Chemical warafare also has a history in Iraq. They were used against foreign troops during the 1980-1988 war with Iran, when both sides used banned mustard and nerve gas. Saddam Hussein's ousted regime used poison gas against the Kurdish minority in the north, most notoriously at Halabja in 1988, when thousands were killed. Chlorine has also been the source of environmental accidents. In 2005, a freight train veered off a track near a small town in South Carolina, rear-ending a parked train and rupturing a car carrying chlorine. The poisonous cloud killed nine people and injured 250. A U.S. Homeland Security scenario drafted in 2004 estimated a large chlorine tank explosion on U.S. soil could lead to 17,500 deaths, 10,000 severe injuries and 100,000 hospitalizations. Our people put canisters of chlorine on trucks with bombs, which then puncture the canisters and release the chemical. Not so very effective so far because high temperatures created by explosions oxidizes the chemical, rendering somewhat less toxic. Chlorine is everywhere, often in large quantities. One of its primary uses is water purification; so everywhere that there is water production, there is chlorine. Chlorine is also used for water purification plants, bleaches and disinfectants. Getting our hands on large quantities is not so difficult. Effects of Exposure to Chlorine A large spill in an urban area is bad news. Chlorine produces a visible greenish cloud and a strong odor, making it easy to detect. The gas is heavier than air so it tends to hug the terrain in a vapor cloud, especially at night. Given the right weather conditions, it might take hours for a cloud to dissipate as it moves downwind or downhill. Chlorine attacks the eyes and lungs within seconds representing an immediate threat at 10 parts per million. Low level contact results in burning eyes, mucous membranes, and even moist skin where it reacts with moisture forming hydrochloric acid causing difficulty in breathing and skin irritation. The odor threshold for chlorine is about .3 parts per million. In other words, if you smell it, you have plenty of time to mask up and get the hell out, but in order to enter the hotzone and take care of business, you need to be wearing a self contained breathing apparatus and a fully encapsulated chemical protective garment. At the smell threshold, people might begin feeling other effects such as burning eyes and nose. People are chemo-phobic so even those who aren’t in an area of dangerous concentration will be worried. The worried well often find their way to hospitals where they can overwhelm emergency rooms.> Inhaled at higher levels, it dissolves in the lungs to form hydrochloric acid that burns lung tissue. This is called pulmonary edema; the victim essentially drowns as liquid floods the lungs. Pretty cool, huh? And Saudi Shaykh Naser bin Hamad al-Fahd issued a fatwa okaying the use of WMD in jihad. Chlorine may not qualify as a weapon of mass destruction, but it sure as hell is a weapon of mass effect. A large release done the right way can send a city reeling. Imagine living in a city where there are explosions, shootings, and mayhem every day of the week. Now, add poison gas to the mixture. Life in Baghdad sucks worse everyday. I admit we have to do some more tinkering before we get it down pat, but jihadis are very quick studies; look at how quickly we have progresses with IEDs. When we develop the expertise to produce even small amounts of more deadly chemical weapons, watchout; Baghdad, and maybe American and European cities could become empty wastelands. So, you don't live in Iraq? Think you are sfe from attacks by home-brewed chemical weapons. Think again. Jihadis pass along the recipes via the Internet. Here are two summaries of information circulating in the jihadi network:
Some of our folks have come up with another way to deliver chlorine on target. The Salahaldin Al-Ayoubi Brigades, the military wing of JAMI, Al Jabha Al-Islamiyya l'il-Muqawama Al-'Iraqiyya, announced via Islamist websites on January 10, 2007 that it had fired four missiles loaded with chemicals at a U.S. base near Samara, Iraq. The organization posted a film showing militants wearing gas masks and filling the missiles with a liquid claimed to be chemicals. Images from the film are below:
A communiqué released with the clip, called this a “unique operation,” The video shows the preparation of the rockets, including two men wearing gas masks to handle the substance, pouring it into the warhead, and then the scene of the launch. You might say there is no proof these rockets actually carry harmful agents; it might just be propaganda. Just what was poured into the missile - could be motor oil, could be something from the bottom of an industrial chemical drum. CENTCOM says it has found no evidence of a chemical attack. On the other hand it could be the real thing, though, as the payload is quite small, the addition of chemicals would hardly make this an effective means of delivering and disseminating chemicals. I say again, irrelevant. Bad News for Zionists. Not too long ago al-Aqsa said it had produced chemical and biological weapons. As reported by the Palestinian news agency Ramattan: An al-Aqsa leaflet distributed in the Gaza Strip “With the help of Allah, we are pleased to say that we succeeded in developing over 20 different types of biological and chemical weapons, this after a three-year effort,” the group said in a leaflet it has distributed. “We say to (Prime Minister Ehud) Olmert and (Defense Minister Amir) Peretz: Your threats of invasion do not frighten us. We will surprise you with new weapons you have not faced until now. As soon as an IDF soldier sets foot on Gazan land, we will respond with a new weapon.” According to the statement, the first of its kind, the group has managed to manufacture and develop at least 20 different types of biological and chemical weapons. Last year al-Aqsa claimed to have fired a rocket tipped with a chemical warhead at Israel. Hah, Zyklon B! Via airmail! The Al Aqsa Brigades have fired one rocket with a chemical warhead" at southern Israel, Abu Qusai said, according to Reuters. An IDF spokeswoman said there was no detection that any such rocket was fired, nor any report of it striking territory in Israel. WorldNetDaily reported the threat by al-Aqsa that it would indeed attack Israelis with chemical and biological weapons the group has developed, according to a pamphlet distributed by the Brigades. But al-Aqsa sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said while the group is attempting to acquire biological and chemical agents, their current capabilities in the field still are mostly primitive. Israeli security officials say Al Aqsa's claim of developing more than 20 kinds of chemical and biological agents is "rhetoric." They said Israel has information the group in the past has conducted low-level experiments adding some kinds of chemicals, including cyanide, to suicide belts, but that Palestinian groups currently don't have "serious" chemical or biological capabilities. They also said Palestinian terror groups currently do not have capabilities to add chemical or biological agents to missiles but that there was a fear some countries, particularly Iran, may be assisting in such efforts. Sources in the Al Aqsa Brigades told WND the group was experimenting with chemical agents. They claimed they currently have in their weapons arsenal certain agents that can be thrown or shot at civilians in canisters, but they declined to name the specific agents. One Al Aqsa source said the group's work in Gaza so far has been limited mostly to Al Aqsa members who are studying chemistry at local universities where biological agents are not available and chemical agents are limited. They said "outside parties" were helping the group add agents to missiles, but would not comment on the current status of the program or name the outside parties. Palestinian terror groups in the past have discussed adding chemical and biological agents to suicide bomb belts. Mahmoud Abu Tir, a Hamas legislator, was arrested by Israel in the early 1990s and accused of plotting to poison Israeli water supplies. ![]() If rockets with chemical payloads were rain down in large numbers in Israeli cities, as during the late unpleasantness with Hizbollah, enough chemicals might be released to cause significant casualties; or possibly scare someone to death – literally. A few Zionists died from heart attacks during the first Gulf War when Iraqi SCUDS landed in Israel. Some were reported, erroneously, to have chemical warheads. Certainly rockets in large numbers could cause a panic and require expensive, time- and energy-consuming measures to protect the population. Hizballah has even flown unmanned drones over the Zionist entity on at least two occasions. The Yahud press was full of worry about possible chemical attacks carried out by drones. Maybe they will prove to be correct.
